Sebastián Yatra

Colombia

Sebastián Yatra is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Latin pop, blending ballad-like lyricism with the rhythms of reggaetón and urban music. Born in Medellín, Colombia in 1994 and raised in Miami, he grew up between cultures, which is a background that shapes much of his sound and outlook.

Yatra first made a mark in 2016 with his breakthrough single Traicionera, a track that became a hit across Latin America and Spain. From there his career picked up speed, particularly with the 2017 release of Alguien Robó (featuring Wisin & Nacho), which gained him wider recognition and solidified his place in the Latin urban-pop wave. That same year he collaborated with Carlos Vives on Robarte un Beso, a song that became one of the biggest Latin hits of the decade, racking up billions of views and earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Song of the Year.

Since then, Yatra has continued to release albums and collaborations that push him onto the global stage. His versatility has seen him work with artists as varied as Daddy Yankee, the Jonas Brothers, and Ricky Martin. In 2022, his single Dos Oruguitas from Disney’s Encanto soundtrack brought him to an even broader audience, and earned him an Academy Award nomination in the process.
