María Becerra
Argentina
María de los Ángeles Becerra, born 12 February 2000 in Buenos Aires, has risen from online fame to become one of the most powerful voices in Latin pop and urban music. She began by posting covers, vlogs and tutorials on YouTube as a teenager, later releasing her debut EP 222 in 2019 which quickly made waves in Argentina.
Her first full studio album Animal (2021) confirmed her as a star on the rise, followed by La Nena de Argentina in 2022, which expanded her reach across Latin America and Spain. Known for her versatility, Becerra moves confidently between trap, reggaetón, pop, cumbia and dancehall, collaborating with artists like Tini, J Balvin and Becky G. Her tracks frequently dominate Argentina’s Hot 100 and consistently rank among the most streamed Latin songs worldwide.
In a career-defining moment, in 2024 Becerra became the first Argentine female artist to sell out River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, filling it for two consecutive nights. In 2025, she broke her own record by selling 85,000 tickets in record time for another concert at the same venue, forcing organisers to add a second date. These achievements really cemented her as one of Argentina’s biggest current artists.
Becerra’s rise shows no sign of slowing. She stands at the forefront of a new generation of Argentine artists carrying their sound to global audiences. Her record-breaking stadium shows place her firmly alongside the contemporary giants of Latin music.
